From Local Living Labs to Teachers Training – READ Project’s Journey Continues!

Since our last article in December 2024 on “Local Living Lab in Ireland,” a lot has progressed regarding READ’s project implementation. From Local Living Labs to Teachers Training – READ Project’s Journey Continues with the “Reading for Emotional and Academic Development – READ” project (2023-1-PL01-KA220-SCH-000156235)

First and foremost, all partners have organised their Local Living Labs (LLL) in their countries: Poland (The Municipality of Zarszyn and Ornament), Bulgaria (Luben Karavelov Regional Library in Ruse and Ruse Industrial Association -RIA), Greece (Areadne Lifelong Learning Centre), Slovakia (Flexskill), Slovenia (Smart idea) and of course Ireland (Eurospeak). Upon completion of all the LLL, each partner delivered their report with the feedback provided by teachers and experts regarding READ’s training materials and the Book Club Journal.

In the meanwhile, READ’s Newsletter with the latest updates on the project has been released. You can read it here

What is coming next?

The Learning Teaching and Training Activity of the READ project that will take place in the beautiful city of Košice in Slovakia. It will last for three days and it will be hosted by the Slovakian partner, Flexskill in the beginning of April 2025. Flexskill is an education-based company committed to innovation and excellence in education.

This Learning Teaching and Training Activity is a key element designed to equip teachers with essential training tools to enhance students’ social, emotional and literacy skills. It aims to introduce and refine the Training Toolkit designed for teachers. It will provide training on methodologies, strategies and principles for implementing emotional and literacy development programmes in classrooms. Feedback and evaluation will be collected to refine the final version of the toolkit, while teachers will be trained on bibliotherapy techniques to support students’ emotional well-being and learning. The programme will modernise teaching methodologies, making them more engaging and tailored to students’ individual needs.

Partner organisations will participate in this Learning Teaching and Training Activity by sending two participants each. Participants could be teachers, educators, staff working in libraries, experts or adult trainers.
