Misinformation: It’s Not Just Fake News

Misinformation isn’t always a blatant lie. Sometimes it’s a half-truth, a manipulated image, a misleading statistic, or just enough emotional spin to cloud your judgment. It often wears the disguise of credibility, designed not to inform but to mislead, confuse, or reinforce existing biases.

INFOREADY - Enhancing Adult's Digital literacy & resistance to misinformation.

From clickbait headlines to content that omits key context, misinformation shapes our perceptions more subtly than we might think. Recognising it takes more than fact-checking—it requires critical thinking and awareness of the strategies used to influence what we believe.

🎥 So what do people across Europe think about it?

We asked 8 individuals from different countries to share their thoughts on how misinformation affects their daily lives, what it looks like in their communities, and how they deal with it. Watch the video to hear their insights
