It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed! Since September 2022, the rural tourism TouRural Project—officially titled “RURAL RESILIENCE AND RURAL TOURISM TRAINING PATHS” (Project Number: 2022-1-SK01-KA220-VET–000085917)—has been working to enhance rural tourism and resilience across Europe. As we approach the project’s end on August 31, 2024, we reflect on the incredible journey and the positive outcomes achieved by all partners involved.
Final Meeting and Project Recap
Today, August 28, 2024, marks our final online meeting—our 12th meeting in two years. During this session, partners from Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Ireland, and Austria came together to review pending activities and summarize the tasks completed throughout the project. A significant focus of the discussion was on the Multiplier Events held in each partner country, which played a crucial role in disseminating the project’s outcomes.
Successful Multiplier Events Across Europe
The Multiplier Events exceeded expectations, with a total of 302 participants—52 more than our initial target of 250. These events were a testament to the project’s success, demonstrating the broad impact of rural tourism on local and regional communities.
- Slovakia: Coordinated by Europea Slovakia, with 92 participants
- Poland: Led by Europea Polska, with 50 participants
- Italy: Organized by LUETEB, with 52 participants
- Ireland: Conducted by Eurospeak, with 54 participants
- Austria: Hosted by VAEV, with 54 participants
Positive Feedback and Lasting Impact
The feedback from these events has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants—including VET providers, VET trainers, VET students, and stakeholders—finding the TouRural project’s deliverables highly valuable. These resources have proven useful as learning materials, case studies, and guides, ensuring the project’s sustainability and long-term impact.

Spotlight on Eurospeak’s Multiplier Event in Donegal, Ireland
One of the highlights of the project was the Multiplier Event organised by Eurospeak in Donegal on the 25th of July 2024, in Ireland. We are proud to inform you that the evaluation of the event by all participants was positive. Participants enjoyed the second podcast about the visit to “La Fiorita” and they enjoyed watching the combined video about the Rural Tourism Experience at “La Fiorita”. They also showed a special interest in the video “Sea Sessions 2024” presented by Mr. Daniel Browne who organises every June a music concert in Donegal, combined with his speech on the local context of rural tourism. Below you can see some pictures of the Multiplier Event in Donegal:
A Successful Conclusion to the TouRural Project
As we conclude the TouRural project, the coordinator, Europea Slovakia, and partners LUETEB, Europea Polska, VAEV, and Eurospeak are all satisfied with the results and the impact made on our target groups. The journey has been rewarding, and we’re proud of the contributions to rural tourism and rural resilience across Europe.
