SeHeMe events marked the culmination of the SeHeMe project, funded under project number 2022-1-PT02-KA220-YOU-000087351, under the coordination of COFAC from Portugal, the 5 partners worked all together and reached the project’s objectives: Eurospeak from Ireland, PADIL from Tunisia, DEFOIN from Spain, RESET from Cyprus and E-School from Greece joined forces and collaborated effectively.
Overview of SeHeMe Events in Ireland
During October 2024, Eurospeak organized three key SeHeMe events across Ireland, aimed at sharing the project’s deliverables with a diverse audience. These events fostered awareness and understanding of migrant integration and educational resources, marking a significant milestone in the project’s legacy.
Event 1: Dublin – Engaging Migrant Women from Ukraine
The first event was held on October 14, 2024, at NCP’s premises in Dublin, with a focus on empowering migrant women from Ukraine. The event highlighted SeHeMe resources, offering insights into media literacy and social integration.
Event 2: Bundoran, Donegal – A Diverse Gathering of Participants
The second event took place in Bundoran, in Donegal at Donegal’s English Language School and there was a wide range of participants from adults (migrants, trainers, teachers, educators but also other faculties such as one architect and one doctor) to young students and some teenagers.
Event 3: Glebe School, Donegal – Inspiring Younger Generations
The third and final event was held at the Glebe School in the old city of Donegal and the participants there were children between 11 and 12 years old together with their teachers. Among the children there were also two migrant children from Ukraine.
Impact of SeHeMe Events in Ireland
Eurospeak managed to reach 89 participants in total through all the aforementioned events. The older generations were more interested in the Foreign Language for Media Literacy e-course, while the younger generations found the “Home & Away” online magazine fascinating. Both seemed to enjoy the same SeHeMe Case Studies Booklet. All SeHeMe’s deliverables are available on the project’s website here. Discussions took place at the end of each event, were participants had the chance to pose questions and receive answers immediately. With children, some activities took place during the presentations to motivate them more and engage them in the topic. We were surprised with the knowledge of the 11th and 12th years old about migration! They were so aware of it!
Audience Feedback on SeHeMe Events
Towards the end of the events, an online evaluation took place for adults. For children we made the evaluation easier by having an open discussion with thumbs up and thumbs down. All children showed thumbs up and we are really happy that SeHeMe’s deliverables managed to approach younger learners as well.
Below we list some of the comments we received from the online evaluation taken by adults that are worth mentioning on whether they would recommend that event or not:
- “Yes, it’s informative and advocates the human rights of immigrants, raise relevant awareness.”

This feedback underscores the value of SeHeMe events in addressing real challenges faced by migrant communities, making them feel seen, heard, and supported.
Conclusion: SeHeMe’s Success in Bridging Communities
To conclude, it can be said that the “See Me, Hear Me” project met its main objective: migrants’ voices were heard and they were seen. SeHeMe’s deliverables helped migrants overcome their obstacles when trying to integrate into the society of the host country. Above all, SeHeMe involved real migrants and what was very rewarding is that comment from one of the SeHeMe events in Ireland as stated above: “Yes. This reflects my and my friends’ problem.” SeHeMe aimed to be realistic and it is very satisfying that it reflected the reality of other migrants as well!
