On April 9th, 2025, Eurospeak hosted a powerful intergenerational exchange of a pilot mentorship event. Under the Intergenic programme, youth and seniors shared skills and experiences in a dynamic setting that emphasized both digital confidence and sustainable living.
The event brought together youth senior who took the opportunity to learning about pilot mentorship event sessions on topics like online safety, using digital apps, water management, and well-being. The mutual learning approach created a supportive atmosphere that encouraged collaboration, curiosity, and personal growth. Whether it was seniors learning how to navigate Google Maps or youth discovering practical green skills like water conservation, everyone was empowered.
Participants reported high levels of satisfaction, citing increased confidence and the ability to independently use the tools and skills learned. Many mentioned they now felt more open to exploring digital tools, less intimidated by technology, and more intentional about environmental impact. Several even began applying these skills in their homes and communities.
What stood out most was the joy of intergenerational interaction. Both youth and seniors valued the chance to teach, learn, and connect.
This pilot demonstrated that meaningful learning knows no age limits. By pairing generations in pilot mentorship event roles, the Intergenic programme creates lasting impact, fostering confidence, sustainability, and community connection across all ages.
