DiCE International Conference in France
Eurospeak participated in the International Conference of the DiCE project (project’s number: 2022-1-FR01-KA220-ADU-000088511) on Digital Citizenship Education that took place in France on the 3rd of April 2025 close to the city of Bourg-en-Bresse in the region of Péronne. Bourg-en-Bresse is located in between the big cities of Lyon and Geneva. In total more than 70 persons attended the DiCE International Conference and about 60 of them were from France. The DiCE International Conference took place at the premises of the host organisation, the Association de Sauvegarde de l’Enfant a l’Adulte , which is also the coordinator of the DiCE project.
First, the legal representative of “Le Sauvegarde” welcomed participants to the International Conference of the DiCE project. Then he briefly presented “Le Sauvegarde”, which is a French non-profit association created in 1942 with the mission to participate at the protection of vulnerable persons. With more than 250 employees (social workers, educators, psychologists, counselors, as well as management and administrative team) the association has developed various services and projects. Participants were informed in detail about the action of Sauvegarde in the region of Péronne.
After that, representatives from the partner organisations gave a brief presentation about them, starting with Eurospeak from Ireland, continuing with the two organisations from Cyprus: Oxygono and CSI (Center for Social Innovation), following the Active Citizens Partnership from Greece and finally concluding with Mine Vaganti NGO from Italy. The DiCE project, its objectives and its deliverables were then presented to the participants with a special focus on the DiCE Educational Platform and the DiCE Training Toolkit. There was also an online presentation given by a very experienced social worker of Sauvegarde who focused on the results of a survey contacted by them in France in the region of Peronnes regarding Digital Citizenship Education.
During the whole duration of the DiCE International Conference, there was an interpreter who immediately translated from French to English and vice versa to ensure that all participants comprehended the presentations.
The city of Bourg-en-Bresse
The day before the DiCE International Conference, partner representatives had a social dinner at a very nice restaurant located in the city of Bourg-en-Bresse. They had the chance to meet in person and get to know each other before the event. On the day of the DiCE International Conference there was another social dinner that took place on a small walk in the city of Bourg-en-Bresse, during which partners visited the church Basilique du Sacré-Coeur and later on, they saw the Royal Monastery of Brou with its remarkable architecture and its unique colourful roof. The weather was very nice, bright and sunny, which made walking on the streets of Bourg-en-Bresse with the blooming magnolia trees an unforgettable experience!
