Meet the EDICRA project!

We are happy to announce the start of our new project EDICRA – European Handicraft Digitalization! EDICRA aims to develop a methodology and training program for the incorporation of young people into the world of crafts by including digitization and immersion in rural areas as learning vehicles.

The project’s main objectives are the following:

  • Facilitate access for artisans to digital tools (online marketing, electronic commerce, social networks) to improve their commercial and professional situation.
  • Promote access for adults and rural youth with digital skills to avocations that contribute to incorporating innovation in craft trades and any other economic, cultural or civic activity that takes place in rural areas, improving their employability.
  • Democratizing the population’s access to training in craft trades, especially for the young population, with high-quality standards and adapted to hybrid environments.

By the end of the project we aim to complete the following:

  • Design of training itineraries for new artisans in multicultural environments through digital tools.
  • Development of a methodological guide for the use of digital tools in the artisan sector.
  • Creation of a repository of activities in rural environments that promote the appreciation of rural areas.
  • Implementation of events on how to deal with the digital transformation in rural areas using crafts as an example of good practice.
  • Implementation of a Hackathon on Digital Articrafts which will be celebrated between the 27th of March and the 1st of April in Tenerife, Spain.

Project Duration: 01/03/2022 to 31/10/2023

Project Number: 2021-2-ES01-KA210-ADU-000049550
