READ Project: Local Dissemination Events in Ireland!

READ'S Teacher local dissemination event

When did the Local Dissemination Events in Dublin happened?

During the summer period, Eurospeak managed to organise two local dissemination events about the READ project in collaboration with two different libraries in Dublin. More concrete, the first event took place on the 24th of June 2025 in Blanchardstown Library that is located in Fingal area of Dublin. The second one was held almost a month later, on the 23rd of July 2025 in the Central Library in Dublin

What was the aim of the events?

The aim of these events was to empower and engage teachers and interested stakeholders to become active contributors to educational expansion and equip them with the competencies needed for the inclusion of social and emotional development in classrooms. A special focus was laid on understanding the wider use of bibliotherapy as a developmental tool for student’s skills. That is why the places of the two libraries were chosen as the best option of the events’ venue.

Who attended the local dissemination events?

Participants were mainly teachers of students aged from 8 to 12. There were also school and university principals, as well as teachers’ trainers and staff from the libraries who attended the events. Finally, there were also a few students among the participants. Some of them took part in the piloting phase of the READ materials and they showed interest in attending the local dissemination events in Ireland. Both events gathered 40 participants.

What were the results of the events in Ireland?

The two local dissemination events in Ireland through their informative presentations and interactive workshops managed to:

  • Raise the number of diversified ways of teaching in the schools, providing new innovative curricula with the READ educational materials and its methodology based on Bibliotherapy practices.
  • Encourage the adoption of Bibliotherapy training materials by teachers in other schools.
  • Ensure the sustainability of the READ project and its results by providing the necessary tools and knowledge to additional teachers who can then provide Bibliotherapy training within their own schools.
  • Increase the visitors of the two libraries on those dates and acted as “attraction pole” for visiting these libraries in the future more often. In other words, it reminded participants how fruitful is to spend some time in a library reading books or searching for something specific. Both results in personal and professional upskilling.
